Translations of the SUMP guidelines and decision-makers summaries currently available

Over the last few months, many new translations of the SUMP Guidelines and Decision-Makers Summaries have been published, and these can all be accessed via the Eltis portal.

Publication of Guidelines and Summaries for developing and implementing a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) (2nd edition) has piqued interest across the world. The fundamental principles apply not just in the European context - but can be applied to cities globally, taking into account local context, governance, and transport conditions.

SUMP Guidelines

Many national institutions have been working to translate the SUMP Guidelines into their own language – to make them even easier to use and to establish the concept of SUMPs in their own country. There are now 17 different translations, including the recently added Danish, Dutch, Estonian, French and Lithuanian. Access to all the different translations can be found here.

Decision-Makers Summary

The interactive summary to make the Guidelines for developing and implementing a SUMP (2nd edition) more accessible and easy to use has also now been translated into 13 different languages including the recently added Danish, Dutch and Lithuanian. Developed for use by decision-makers who wish to make use of the SUMP Guidelines' 2nd edition, the document is comprised of only a few pages to create a succinct and convincing user-guide. Access to all the different summary translationscan be found here.

With these releases, national decision-makers and planners are encouraged to apply the concept of SUMP and establish integrated planning practices.

All current and future translations of the SUMP guidelines and Decision-Makers Summary are available to download as documents from the SUMP Guidelines page on Eltis.
