Expectations and Success Factors for Urban Air Mobility in Europe

Urban Air Mobility (UAM) has been the subject of a large amount of hype within and beyond the innovation community. Yet what are actual expectations of cities, companies, and researchers toward the technology?

The new EIT Urban Mobility report on Urban Air Mobility (UAM) "Expectations and success factors for Urban Air Mobility in Europe" provides insights on what future applications for UAM in Europe could look like.

Contributions from more than 60 experts from the public and private sectors were collected via a questionnaire and during an in-person workshop with EIT Urban Mobility partners.

Main topics addressed include:

  • the likely use cases for UAM in Europe;
  • practitioners’ expectations as to its safety requirements and regulatory framework;
  • whether and how UAM can support cities in addressing their sustainable mobility objectives.

This report was developed in collaboration with Skyroads and Alldots.
