EU Sustainable Energy Week: Call to host sessions now open

The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) will take place on 25-29 October 2021 under the theme: ‘Towards 2030: Reshaping the European Energy System’.

The Policy Conference is the biggest European conference dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe. Sessions organised by the European Commission and energy stakeholders will focus on sustainable energy issues, debate new policy developments, best practices and sustainable energy ideas.

Public authorities, energy agencies, industry associations, businesses, civil society organisations and the media are all invited to take part in the conference. Past speakers and participants have come from city councils and the European institutions, private companies and research organisations, resident groups and NGOs.

The call to host sessions at the Policy Conference opened on Tuesday 13 April and will be accepting applications until Tuesday 25 May at 17:00 CEST

The call for contributions to host a session at the Policy Conference of the EU Sustainable Energy Week 2021 is open to:

  • representatives of EU institutions, including inter-institutional bodies;
  • stakeholders which fulfil the following criteria:
  1. have a mandate to work as multipliers using a widespread network of contacts across Europe;
  2. have a mandate to contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable energy policy in Europe.

The format of the session is up to the applicants (panel discussion, presentation, workshop), however, it must adhere to principles of gender balance, plurality of opinion and interactivity (limit of 5 speakers including moderator). For inspiration, see last year's sessions. Successful applicants will be fully supported by the event and technical teams (i.e. for registration, web streaming services, trainings, etc).

All session organisers are fully responsible for the organisation and promotion of their event and must comply with the guidelines provided by the organising team of the EU Sustainable Energy Week. A communication kit for promotion will be provided to all successful applicants that are organising sessions.

For more information of the application process, please see the guidelines for sessions or the main event page here.
