EU consultation on the 2011 White Paper and the future mobility strategy

The European Commission has opened a public consultation on the evaluation of the 2011 White Paper on Transport and the EU's European Strategy for a Sustainable and Smart Mobility, which is under development. The consultation aims to evaluate all aspects of the White Paper, including the progress that has been made in relation to a number of areas, including:

  • Eliminating barriers to the single EU transport market;
  • Promoting innovation;
  • Improving infrastructure;
  • Reducing emissions.

The focus will be on the aims, actions, results and impacts, as well as their costs and benefits. This information will help inform the development of the European Strategy for a Sustainable and Smart Mobility, which aims to build a resilient and crisis-proof transport system that is both sustainable and technologically smart.

The consultation period runs until 23 September 2020 (midnight Brussels time).

All individuals, organisations and public authorities are invited to contribute to this consultation. To find out more and submit your response to the questionnaire click here.
