Call for applications to join the EIT Governing Board

The EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) is looking for four new innovation leaders to join their Governing Board and support their overarching mission to ‘create jobs and deliver sustainable and smart growth’. The EIT Governing Board is currently made up of 15 European innovation leaders, as well as an observer from the European Commission, and is entrusted with the strategic leadership and overall direction of operational activities of the Institute.

A key responsibility of the Board is to oversee the selection, funding and ongoing evaluation of the EIT's Knowledge and Innovation Communities. The objective of these Communities is to deliver solutions to address key societal challenges through collaborative partnerships among key players in business, education, and research.

The Call for Expression of Interest to join the Board is open until 29 October 2023. EIT are welcoming applications from candidates with backgrounds in research and innovation, business or education who want to help Europe transition to a more sustainable future.

EIT outlined that their ideal candidates and new Board members will have a strong track record as an innovator, academic, scientist, entrepreneur, business leader or investor. They highlighted that they will also have specific expertise in promoting cooperation between the business, research and education sectors, as well as an established reputation in building governance frameworks or leading effective communication campaigns.
