Shaping the future of rural mobility – SMARTA-NET final conference

Mobility is essential for people to be able to access everything related to their daily lives. However, in many rural areas, people have limited choice other than using a personal car. SMARTA-NET aims to change this by demonstrating alternative rural mobility solutions.

The SMARTA-NET Final Conference provides an exciting opportunity for stakeholders to discuss key findings and lessons learned from the project, with a focus on co-designing the future vision of rural mobility in Europe. The Conference will explore the diversity of rural contexts and investigate how mobility and tourism solutions can be tailored to specific local conditions. It will showcase outcomes from various tasks such as typology, guidance, training activities, and evaluation analysis. Additionally, the event will address the urban-rural linkages and current SMARTA-NET recommendations to enhance Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) with rural considerations.

The SMARTA-NET Final Conference will take place in Brussels, Belgium from 23 to 24 October 2024.
