Turin ride-hailing service providers expand to include e-scooters

FREE NOW - the company dedicated to ride-hailing which was created last February from the mobility joint venture between BMW Group and Daimler AG - integrates Hive within its selection of transport for urban mobility in Turin.

The ability to use the service to access electric scooters has been added to the other services already available and present on the app as an alternative to taxis. Launched in Turin at the beginning of the new year, the Hive service is already operational in five other European countries. To rent electric scooters with FREE NOW, users are required to access the app and unlock it by scanning the QR Code on the scooter (alternatively, the 6 digits can be entered).

The cost will be €1 to unlock it and €0.15 per minute to use it. Barbara Covili, General Manager of FREE NOW Italy, underlines that micro electric mobility is a perfect match and integration to the car-hailing business, which in Italy is focused on taxi service, as it is an ideal solution for those who need to make rather short trips, which are on average comprised of only one or two kilometers.
