STF call for applications: Sub-group on best practice for public authorities to support the deployment of recharging infrastructure

Following a proposal by DG MOVE, the Sustainable Transport Forum has decided to establish three new sub-groups, including one on best practice for public authorities to support the deployment of recharging infrastructure.

This sub-group will further the work on the 2020 STF Recommendations for public authorities for procuring, awarding concessions, licences and/or granting support for electric recharging infrastructure, generating a (bi-)annual update to ensure the recommendations remain relevant for public authorities. Moreover, it shall function as a platform for exchange between public authorities on all matters relevant to the promotion and development of high-quality recharging infrastructure. This includes, for example, approaches to the harmonisation and simplification of permitting procedures and of grid connection procedures.

The sub-group will be composed of up to 35 members, of which up to 10 expert organisations (Type C members) will be selected through a call for applications which is now open. The deadline for application is 1 February 2021Note that public authorities do not have to respond to the call - in case of interest to become a member of this STF sub-group, simply send an email expressing interest to MOVE-STFatec [dot] europa [dot] eu (MOVE-STF[at]ec[dot]europa[dot]eu)

The two other new sub-groups will discuss:

  • Governance and standards for communication exchange within the electromobility ecosystem;
  • A common data approach for electric mobility and other alternative fuels.

Calls for application for these sub-groups have been launched in parallel; deadline also 1 February 2021. More information is available on DG MOVE’s dedicated STF webpage.
