The first edition of the inVest – Urban Mobility Accelerator has selected 14 promising teams from more than 50 European applicants. Running from July to October 2025, the programme supports innovative solutions for urban mobility. It is organised by Iceberg Plus and Cowork Timișoara, with the support of EIT Urban Mobility and ADR Vest. This marks Romania's first initiative exclusively dedicated to rethinking how people and goods move in cities.
The selected teams will benefit from over 10 hands-on workshops, tailored mentoring, and opportunities to test and pilot their solutions in cities across Romania’s Western Region. They will also gain direct exposure to investors, local authorities and international experts. The programme culminates in Demo Day Timișoara, where participants will present their concepts to a panel of industry and public sector leaders.
According to Alexandra Hîncu, Project Manager of inVest, the variety of projects shows Romania’s strong potential in urban mobility, spanning micromobility, traffic optimisation, smart data collection and digital logistics platforms. EIT Urban Mobility emphasised that the programme is designed to improve quality of life in European cities, enabling Romanian startups to scale and compete internationally.
Among the selected startups are:
- CautCurier: AI-driven logistics platform optimising deliveries with route planning, microhubs and adaptable fleets.
- Volvero: peer-to-peer car sharing model that makes underused private vehicles available for rent.
- Renter Mobility: affordable long-term e-bike subscriptions for couriers, with anti-theft systems, fast repair guarantees and battery swap lockers.
- BraveX Aero: drone-based last-mile logistics for time-sensitive goods, combining autonomous technology with lower environmental impact.
- Drop: all-in-one delivery platform using bike couriers to improve efficiency in food and retail distribution.
- Blume Technologies: LED crosswalk alerts and an AI traffic analysis platform to improve municipal road safety.
The inVest Accelerator aims not only to strengthen Romania’s entrepreneurial ecosystem but also to contribute meaningfully to Europe’s transition towards smarter, greener and safer urban mobility.
