European Green Capital 2022 & European Green Leaf 2021 Award Ceremony Invitation

Cities and towns are the perfect place to create new opportunities for sustainable development. Two out of three European live in cities and towns, so unsurprisingly these areas provide may economic, environmental and social challenges. COVID-19 has only added to these challenges and the need for a green recovery is necessary.

The prestigious European Green Capital and European Green Leaf Awards recognise the crucial role of urban areas as drivers of sustainable development and reward them for improving the urban environment.

The winners of the 2022 European Green Capital and 2021 European Green Leaf Awards will be announced on 8 October from 16:00 – 17:00 Lisbon (UTC+1)  / 17:00 – 18:00 Brussels (UTC+2)  /  18:00 – 19:00 Lahti (UTC+3) and broadcast live from Lisbon, this year’s European Green Capital.

The Award Ceremony will be entirely online and you can sign up now to hear from mayors and councillors of Green Capital and Green Leaf cities and high-level representatives from academia, business and international media.
