This October, EIT Urban Mobility published its Highlights Report for its 2024 activities. The report credits EIT’s work through its activities in scaling startups, bringing innovations to market, and linking its educational talent to businesses.
EIT Urban Mobility published its Highlights Report on “Mobility for more liveable urban spaces” this October 2024. The report looks back on the projects, initiatives, and investments that EIT Urban Mobility managed or participated in over the past year. It offers inspiration by showcasing innovative activities across the 12 sectors EIT Urban Mobility focuses on, including details on:
- The Berlin-based start-up PANTOhealth identifing faults in railway infrastructure before they occur, using AI-driven predictive maintenance to schedule necessary works at optimal times.
- The Austrian company Dreamwaves improving navigation for visually impaired individuals through its waveOUT app, offering centimetre-accurate guidance via sound signals.
- The TACTIC project successfully integrating e-cargo bikes into its shared e-vehicle platform to enhance sustainable urban logistics.
- The City of Helsingborg and private company Nudgd collaborating to boost cycling among schoolchildren by using a large-scale digital nudging platform.
- The MOBY tap-and-ride system simplifing shared mobility solutions by reducing registration and administrative burdens to a simple NFC-based card-tapping process.
- The EVOSS project team, led by the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas, developing a robotic mobile rapid charger that autonomously moves to the location of parked electric vehicles.
EIT Urban Mobility also ran a variety of educational programs, such as Master Schools, Doctoral Training Networks, and specialised branches focused on citizen engagement. One notable example is the Girls Go Circular program, which has already equipped over 40,000 girls from more than 1,000 schools with green, digital, and entrepreneurial skills to help drive Europe’s green and digital transition.
