Air quality in Ghent improves thanks to new circulation plan

The City of Ghent has released the first air quality figures since they established a new circulation plan and the figures, delivered by the Flanders Environment Agency VVM show significant improvements. VVM measured NO2 on 20 points in Ghent before and after April 2017.

On average, the amount of NO2 decreased with 7.4 micrograms per m3, a decrease of eighteen percent. This decrease is twice as large as the average of other Flemish cities. Nowhere on the 20 measuring points, pollution increased.
