3rd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SMART AND SUSTAINABLE PLANNING FOR CITIES AND REGIONS 2019

Turning visionary approaches into planning policies and tools.

The transformation of cities and regions into smarter and more sustainable places starts with planning. Choosing the right mix of digital innovation and disruptive and clean technologies creates value and contributes to environmental protection while ensuring social justice.

The 3rd International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Planning for Cities and Regions 2019 is a high-level international communication platform for academics, researchers, professionals, and decision-makers gathering 200 participants from more than 20 countries. The event takes place in Bolzano/Bozen (Italy) between 9 - 13 December 2019.

Smart and Sustainable Planning for Cities and Regions 2019 (SSPCR 2019) offers a place where research can turn into practice and visionary approaches into (planning) policies and tools for local authorities and decision-makers in urban and regional contexts. SSPCR 2019 explores the impact of academic research, the opportunities for scaling-up and replicability of pilot projects, and the added value of local bottom-up initiatives in relation to complex challenges posed by the smart city/region approach.
