The European Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025 conference will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on the 4 and 5 December 2025. The event will also be livestreamed. Organised by the European Commission, the event will bring together policymakers, organisations, and persons with disabilities to advance disability inclusion and equality across Europe.
The event aims to discuss building a fair, resilient, and inclusive European Union by sharing insights and best practices, and ensuring that everyone has a place in Europe’s social and economic future, and that no one is excluded. The agenda includes three panel sessions covering the challenges and opportunities shaping the rights and daily realities of persons with disabilities, including:
- Panel 1: Forging Ahead: The Next Chapter in implementing the Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021-2030.
- Panel 2: Funding the Union of Equality: towards a Disability – Inclusive EU budget.
- Panel 3: Preparedness and crisis management inclusive of persons with disabilities.
The conference will also host the Access City Award 2025 ceremony (5 December), where the winner, runners-up, and Special Mentions will be announced, including a Special Mention award on accessibility in housing.
